About Michèle Forster

I was born in Wädenswil Switzerland in 1987 and grew up on the beautiful Lake Hallwil, which helped me to capture the beauty of nature with all my senses and record it in pictures even as a child. I noticed things between heaven and earth that my fellow human beings did not see. Later I realised that I’m highly sensitive and have a photographic memory, which is an advantage in photography. In the early years, I limited myself to travel and nature photography. And after leaving school, I completed a commercial apprenticeship. However, hobby photography developed into a passion, so I devoured photography books, attended courses and constantly optimised my equipment. The result was an enduring vocation. As a freelance photographer, I now stand for unique animal photos – especially horses and dogs in action – and for nature photos and photo reportages taken while travelling. I also created my first art project ‘Between the Worlds’ on the myth of unicorns. I was able to exhibit these magical pictures at photoSchweiz – the largest photography exhibition in Switzerland – in 2024.

I am currently booked as a course photographer for horse and dog races, by publishers for specialised reports and by private horse and dog owners as well as by professionals from the animal and equestrian sports professions for authentic shoots. My clients as well as the protagonists of reports appreciate my calmness while I move around their businesses and animals. I also have a quick grasp of things and intuitively find the best subjects and ideal lighting conditions without disturbing the work processes in the stables or during training. This allows me to create extensive photo series efficiently and with relatively little time, which are emotional and expressive.

At the moment I live in Switzerland with my Galgo Choco, but also I travel a lot. So its possible to photograph international.
